Psalms 143:8 NIV Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
We are constantly in search of fail-proof methods or ways to make life easier. You know, the subject of those late-night infomercials and self-help books: fail-proof ways to build instant wealth, magically lose weight, live a stress-free life, or the recipe that is always a success. Yet, in reality, there is only one thing that is fail-proof: the unfailing love of God.
God's unfailing love is constant, steadfast, unconditional, and always accessible. Romans 8:38-39 assures us, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39). God’s grace-filled love anchors us during life’s storms, brings healing after heartbreak and betrayal, and transforms us to love others despite the circumstances. God's unfailing love proves His faithfulness even when people fail.
God loves us simply because He has chosen to: “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). He loves you when you don’t feel lovely and when it seems no one else does. There is nothing temporary or fleeting about God’s love. “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3). His love for you is not based upon how you perform or what you have done for him lately. God’s love has no limits. His love is immensely different from ours and meets the standard He set in 1 Corinthians 13:8, “Love never fails.”
Let a thousand people pass before you, and you will not feel the same about each one. But not so with the love of God. God does not love us because of our goodness, kindness, or great faith? No, He loves us because of His own goodness, kindness, and great faith. John says it like this: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us.” (1 John 4:10). The love of God is born from who He is, not from what He finds in us.
Possibly the greatest lie we often believe is that if someone truly knew us—all our flaws, fears, and failures—they wouldn’t love us. But God knows you fully, and He still loves you completely. Psalm 139:1-4 declares, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue, you Lord, know it completely.” God knows everything about you, even the things you try to hide. And still, His love for you does not waver; it is unfailing. He sees you through the lens of grace, not judgment.
Moses told the people of Israel, “The Lord did not choose you and lavish His love on you because you were larger or greater than other nations, for you were the smallest of all nations! It was simply because the Lord loves you.” (Deuteronomy 7:7–8). It was never about who they were but who He is.
What does God’s unfailing love mean? You have an endless source of love from which to draw. When you find it hard to love, when life seems overwhelming, and when you struggle to see yourself as loved, then you need a drink! Drink deeply! Drink daily for the only source that is fail-proof love.

I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!
