Nothing

Romans 8:38-39 NIV And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If there is a single truth that weaves its way through all of scripture, one that God desires we grasp more than anything else, it is this––You were not made to exist without receiving and living in the reality of God’s love for you. And the only way for God’s love to be fully revealed to you is through his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way to the Father’s heart of love, the truth of God’s immeasurable love for you, and a life filled with His love (John 14:6).

Most of us know that he loves us when we worship. We know he loves us when we serve. We’ve experienced his love when we engage in community, read Scripture, and pray. But do we know he loves us when we fail? Do we know he loves us when we say the wrong thing, fail to trust him, miss an opportunity to share the gospel, or even run away from him?

When Adam and Eve made the worst decision of all mankind; motivated by love, God came into the Garden in search of them. After David had morally fallen with Bathsheba, murdered her husband Uriah, and then confronted by the prophet Nathan – he wrote Psalm 139. “Where could I go to escape your presence, where could I run and hide from your face, for your presence is everywhere.” God was pursuing David out of a love relationship that was fully expressed when He sent his only son to redeem us from the bondage of sin. Jesus came to forever restore the love relationship that God and Adam had in the Garden, to take away our sins and restore constant fellowship. Freedom to forever receive and live in God’s perfect love.

Jesus is the ultimate and definitive expression of God’s truth and His unconditional, unchanging, eternal love for us. God’s love is not a feeling or emotion, a concept or a theory, but a person, a sacrifice, a tangible reality that is personal and intimate. God loves us with a purpose, a plan, and a promise. God loves us with grace, mercy, and forgiveness. God’s love is not one-size-fits-all but tailored to each of us. God knows us by name, knows our thoughts, needs, desires, struggles, joys, sorrows, strengths, weaknesses; our past, present, and future (Psalm 139). And nothing can separate us from this love. His love is a dwelling place, a shelter, a place of rest, refreshing and strength. Grasping this reality turns religion into a loving, deeply intimate, personal relationship with God.

Read Romans 8:39 again, “No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing – Satan is a created being and he cannot separate us from the love of God revealed in and through Jesus. Nothing can separate you – you are never further than a 180-degree turn to see and receive the love of the Father through Jesus. He is in constant pursuit of you.

If you want to experience the depth of God’s love for you, you must come to him fully. You must let him into every part of your every day. It is about surrendering to God’s plans, His ways, receiving his infinite love to surround your life, available through His Son Jesus. Grasp and receive His love today.

John 10:27-29 NLT My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.

Romans 8:35,37 NLT Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

1 John 4:9-10 NIV This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

John 3:16-17 NIV For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Lamentations 3:22 NAS The Lord’s lovingkindness indeed never ceases, For His compassions never fail.

Psalms 23:6 NAS Surely His goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalms 17:7 NLT Show me your lovingkindness in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.

Psalms 26:3 NAS For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth.

Psalms 36:7-9 NAS How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

Psalms 40:11 NASB You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.

Psalms 63:3-4 NAS Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

Psalms 92:1-2 NAS It is good to give thanks to the Lord And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night.

Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Psalms 139:17-18 TPT Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought! O God, your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.
